The following essay is a fictional Wikipedia article set 20 in the future, discussing advancements in wearable AI systems, with a particular focus open-source projects.
Since writing this essay in late January/early February 2024, several open-source wearable AI projects have been developed, including ADeus, Friend, and The Owl Project. The pace of development has surprised even us and we are excited to see the visions we imagined in this essay come true, possibly much faster than in 20 years!
Our essay was submitted to MIT's Envisioning the Future of Computing essay competition and was awarded with an honorable mention and $1000 in prize money.
