Get Involved

Building the most effective systems, devices, and philosophies requires transdisciplinary discourse and respectful interaction. We welcome anyone engaging with augmentation technologies and diverse perspectives to get closer to the truth.

Our membership process is inspired by the Noisebridge hackerspace. Similarly, becoming a member of Aug.Lab means taking responsibility and committing to making the Aug.Lab more than it is today. You engage with our community, projects, events, and working groups and express our core values: open-minded exploration, critical thought, and engagement with both the human and the machine.

Here is how you can get involved:

  • Join at least 2 meetings/events

  • Fill out the application form

  • Persuade an existing member to sponsor (refer) your application. It's the member's responsibility to introduce you to the Augmentation Lab.

  • Applications will be voted on by consensus between the members (currently happening on an informal basis; we are considering discussing them as part of the bi-weekly meetings).

We expect new members to contribute to the Augmentation Lab within the first 2 months. This may be through working groups, op-eds, projects (can be existing projects you co-develop with the Aug.Lab), or events.

If you have any questions, you can get in touch with us on Discord, email (contact@augmentationlab.org) or by reaching out to the organizing team directly (Alice Cai, Aida Baradari, Dünya Baradari, and Treyden Chiaravalloti).
